Above is a photo of the former ice rink at the Civic Square in January 2009.  The ice rink will be increased in size by 150% to accommodate 300 skaters.  It will be artificially maintained November to March.  In warmer weather, it will be an interactive water feature which can be drained to provide more surface space for large events.  © Photo copyright.

Mississauga News article (April 8, 2010): Square gets big screens.  Excerpt: "In tandem with the $40-million redevelopment of the Civic Centre and Central Library outdoor areas, visitors will be greeted by a giant structure hosting two independent, full-colour, 10-x-34-ft. 'gateway signs' for advertising — one facing east and the other west.  They'll be located on the northwest corner of Burnhamthorpe Rd. and Duke of York Blvd."
