Click here for details of the PDC meeting. URBAN GROWTH PLAN - OPA-95 At the June 1, 2009 PDC meeting, the MIRANET Letter on the Urban Growth Plan - OPA 95 was submitted. The Letter addresses various issues of concern to residents, including: Density, Conversion of land use, Mixed use and Transition zones. A major undertaking in the City has been to bring the Official Plan into alignment with the Places to Grow mandate of the Province a.k.a. "Smart Growth". On March 30, 2009, the Planning and Development Committee received the 116-page Corporate Report: Official Plan Amendment 95: Conformity of Mississauga Plan to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. This document sets land use policy, density, intensification, and growth targets until 2030. A 27-page Supplementary Report on 2008 Growth Forecasts was also presented at PDC. The Statutory Public Meeting to discuss the contents of OP Amendment 95 was held on May 4, 2009 at the Planning and Development Committee. Click here for the Minutes (Item 5). The Corporate Report dated May 12, 2009 contains amendments and addresses concerns raised on May 4 by Council members regarding secondary suites (basement apartments), height policies and parking. This report was presented at the June 1, 2009 meeting of PDC. |
