The Mississauga property tax increase for 2025 is ridiculous. How can policing cost so much more than Toronto with our smaller population? An 8.8% increase is well over the inflation rate. What happened to at or below inflation rate as promised during the last election? This kind of increase is not sustainable for people with low incomes or on fixed incomes. No wonder people are leaving the city and population numbers are dropping. I realize that only certain Mississauga councillors voted in favour of the large increase but all of Council is going to wear this going into the next election.
